Language lab

Govt Polytechnic College, Nedumangad, has a fully functional digital audio-visual language lab, which effectively enhances the English listening and speaking skills of the students. Here, at the college, we offer training in standard British accent to our students. The lab procedure follows the behaviourist audio-lingual method of foreign language learning developed by the linguists at the University of Michigan.
This method relies on repeated listening and speaking drills. The language lab here is well-suited to the audio-lingual method, as it is a PC-based network with a dedicated teacher console and individual student consoles, enabling multi-locational access to high-quality multimedia and other learning materials provided by the British Council.
